A free music studio in your browser. Your songs are saved on this computer (in the browser) as you work; nothing is uploaded. Use Songs → Save song file to back a song up or move it to another computer.
Getting started
Double-click on a MIDI track's lane to make a clip, then draw notes in the Clip panel below.
Play notes with your computer keyboard (A S D F … for white keys, W E T Y U for black, Z / X change octave) or a MIDI keyboard (press MIDI, then allow access).
To record: arm a track (●), put the cursor where you want to start, and press ● (or R). You get one bar of count-in. MIDI tracks record notes; audio tracks record your microphone.
Devices shows the selected track's instrument and effects. Mixer has volume, pan, sends to the two return effects and the master.
Export WAV renders the song (or just the loop, if looping is on) to a file you can share. Songs also exports stems (a WAV per track) and MIDI files, and imports MIDI from other apps.
Session view (Tab)
A clip launcher: each track is a column of loops. Press ▶ on a clip to start it on the next bar, ▶ on a scene to start the whole row, ■ to stop a track and go back to its timeline.
Double-click an empty slot to make a MIDI clip, drop an audio file on an audio track's slot, or right-click a timeline clip and choose Send to session slot.
Score view (sheet music)
Write the song as notation, like MuseScore: Score ▾ → New score, or turn your MIDI tracks into a score, or import MusicXML from MuseScore, Sibelius or Finale.
Click a note or measure, press N for note input, pick a length with 1–8 (5 = quarter) and type A–G. A MIDI keyboard or the Keys panel enters notes too. Palettes on the left add clefs, keys, dynamics, repeats and more; ? lists every shortcut.
Every staff plays through a normal track (its clip is called Score), so the mixer, effects and exports work as usual. Score ▾ prints or saves a PDF and exports MusicXML or PNG.
Shaping the sound
Instruments: synth (with 20+ presets and unison for super-saws), grand piano, organ (drawbars and a rotating speaker), electric keys, bass, pad, pluck, six drum kits (load your own samples onto any pad) and a sampler.
MIDI effects sit before the instrument: arpeggiator, chord, scale (never play a wrong note) and velocity/humanize. Swing in the top bar loosens the groove.
Effects: EQs, compressor, limiter, gate, sidechain ducker (pick the kick as the key), reverb, delays, distortion, bitcrusher, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo/auto-pan, auto filter, utility and a spectrum analyser.
Automation: press A on a track, pick a knob, and click the lane to draw how it changes over time.
Markers: right-click the ruler to add one; click it to jump there.
